The essence of traditional Chinese landscape painting gives the emphasis to the mood and atmosphere of the scenery instead to give the detail description of the reality. The mood and atmosphere is purely produced by the painter. After stepping on mountains and rivers, touched by the magnificent beauty of nature, painter will produce the urges of creating, which will be fermented and developed by adding images and shapes and calculating the way of expression. Eventually the painter will communicate all the ideas and thinkings by his brushes and make a special picture by releasing all his talents and skills at once.

The Chinese painters pursuit the broadness in their minds, and the styles of the painting concentrate to the freeness and easiness, while the essence of the product is far-sighted and abstract. The so called ‘mood and atmosphere’ dedicate to the idea of “formation of changing”. Which is just like the Chinese character, the root is pictograms, then enriched by radical and sound. And the Chinese martial arts, which is developed from imitation of animals, then nurtured by leveraging of forces and harmony. Taking another example, the Chinese cooking, which is based on materials collected from fields and became delicious dishes owing to seasoning and controlling the cooking temperatures.
